December 13, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
by Portland Psychedelic Society
“Evidence for Psychedelics and Influence of non-local Consciousness”
is hosted by the Portland IONS, with Portland Psychedelic Society’s lead Researcher Aaron Eisen.
In the current psychedelic renaissance, a great deal of evidence points to the therapeutic potential of psychedelics in the treatment of various health conditions, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and inflammatory conditions such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
In this presentation, we will cover the mechanisms of action behind psychedelics, how they produce alterations and changes in consciousness, and how these changes can be beneficial in the treatment of the health conditions mentioned above.
Moreover, we will also cover how mystical experiences play a role in the therapeutic effect of psychedelics and current research on MDMA to treat PTSD and psilocybin to treat depression.
Finally, we will cover risks associated with psychedelic use to dispel purported claims while also discussing which risks are supported by research evidence.
